what is the narrowest frontage possible for a u-shaped driveway?

House on Monument Ave with a U-shaped Driveway"

We have a narrow city lot with frontage of 38' and the house is set back from the sidewalk 18'. Is there any way this could support a u-shaped driveway? Many thanks!

Yes, in Richmond, VA on our beautiful Monument Avenue, it's done all the time. The driveway width at the front of the house needs to be 18' wide to allow two cars to pass one another. On a smaller lot where this may not be possible, cars will have to back out on each end if it gets blocked. Install the driveway as close as possible to the side property lines to create a "U" across the entire front of the house.

Thanks for contacting me.
